There were moments I honestly thought I wasn't going to finish it. I love it and hate it at the same time because I've never stared at a picture for so many hours. It was hard not to rush through the boring parts to get to the more fun parts. I'm so sick of the color red right now that I see it and want to puke. I'm pretty pleased that I did finish it however, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm a little more confident in my coloring skills. I think the mountains look like crap, but I never do backgrounds so it was a learning experience. I loved doing the lava though, that was fun! I tried to keep it kinda loose, but I think I erased the background about 10 times before I settled on this. Bleh!
It looks so very amazing. I got a little tingle upon viewing it! The touch of orange in the frame and across her metal pieces really does the trick. The background is so very.... evil, or wicked looking. It all ties together so very beautifully.
It looks great. Maybe take a break from red things for a while and come back to it later. Usually when I'm frustrated with the way a drawing came out it looks better after I distance myself from it for a while.
Thanks! Yeah, I think the mountains in the background need a little work still, but I have three other pictures in the series to do, so I will come back to it later.
This is why i really admire you. You sometimes just come right out of left field and hit us with something so sharp and profound that it knocks our socks off.
I can't wait to see the entire series! -Izak
